ENSURE ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
One of the Millennium Goals (7) is to ensure environmental sustainability. SRDF initiated tree plantation programme in 2002 in a small way. In 2008, a major tree planting programme was initiated in collaboration with the Dept. of Forestry (Community Social Forestry, Mr. Nageshwar Rao DFO Medak District).
More than 4000 trees were planted in the months of August and September in Chilver & Dhannur villages. Tree were distributed to the various institutions (Schools, Temples, Mosques, Church) and community members for home stead plantation. Avenue plantation was also undertaken in Chilver village (2km) and Dannur village ( 1km ). The following trees were planted.
